"Trdelník", a traditional cake from Skalica
When people hear Skalica many of them remember wine
and one special word which can't be found in the Slovak Language
Dictionary but it is well-known anyway - Skalica “trdelník“. Those
who don't know what it is can learn something about it right now.
It's a special cake made of dough and walnuts. Its production has a

trdelník“ was founded at the end of 2004 and its goal is keeping the
tradition of the original open fire “trdelník“ production. During
the demanding reconstruction of the historical complex of
the so-called “Black Kitchen“ was open in one of the rooms of this
monastery. You can see there how “trdelník“ is originally made.
